Are you consistent with your children? Do you want to be more consistent?
I have worked with children for many years, and I would like to share some of my tips on staying consistent with your children.
Sometimes it might seem inconvenient to you. But it will only take a few times for you to stay consistent, where you will see a difference in your children.
Start young, if you didn’t and would like to make the change, let them know. Sit down with your child, and let them know the things you want to be changed and what will happen if it’s not done the right way.
Here is where it gets a little tiring. Any time your child doesn’t follow through with your direction, STOP what you are doing and correct it RIGHT AWAY!!!! If your child sees that you are being consistent then they will stay consistent on what you are asking.
Stay Consistent with:
- Potty training
- Sleep training
- Being disrespectful
- Poor behavior in school
The list can go on and on.
Once you stay consistent for a few days, maybe weeks (if they are older) you will only give them verbal reminders, and they will understand their consequences. Making life a little easier for you.
If you ever been on a diet, you know it doesn’t happen overnight. Once you stay consistent, you will start seeing results. Just like a diet, you need to stay consistent with your children.
Getting yourself and your family on a routine will help everyone stay consistent with the things that need to get done. I know you can do this!!
- Setting rules and consequences
- Correcting it right away
- Don’t give up
- Get on a routine
You are a rock star mom, and know what’s best for your children. Keep up the good work. Love ya, Mary xoxo
